Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on September 5th, 2024, at Bluewater Health, Evelyn Lorrain Giorgi passed away at the age of 57. Beloved wife of John Giorgi. Loving mother of Jayla and Alexa (Cody). Cherished daughter of Sheila Firth and the late Robert Firth, and daughter-in-law to Adalgisa Giorgi and the late Remo Giorgi. Beloved grandmother of Lydia and Hazel. Dear sister of Lisa George (Derek), Roberta Bressette (Devin), Tanya Aviles (Ernesto), Justin Firth (Kai). Loving sister-in-law to Mario Giorgi (Heather) and Rina Barker (Mike). Predeceased by her sister Chenoa Plain-Firth, and her grandparents James and Lottie Plain, and Curtis and Lorraine Firth. Cherished by her beloved pets (fur babies) Maci, Ray Ray, Jax, and Hazel. Lorrie will be missed by many of her aunties and uncles. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lorrie was a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist at several hospitals including Bluewater Health and McLaren Port Huron Hospital. She was a dedicated and passionate worker who loved her work family. She helped and saved numerous peoples lives and was exceptionally talented in her field. In her free time, she enjoyed running with several different running groups and yoga classes. She was active in her community with being involved on Aamjiwnaang’s Education Committee and the Health Committee. She enjoyed a good reality TV show along with a chocolate bar or sweet treat and a cuddle with her fur babies. She loved hosting family gatherings and was enjoying her new role as Grandma. Lorrie always made it a point to look her best in her Fig scrubs, her hair done and a fresh set of nails and lashes. She loved her yearly Disney vacations and made many happy memories there. She made the best Indian tacos and her girls will try to carry on the tradition. Lorrie was generous and kind-hearted and was always willing to help those in need in her free time. She took many people in as her own and was known to be very selfless. She was a person many people went to for her truthful, amazing support and advice. She is loved by so many friends and family and will be missed greatly. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Sarnia and District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
