Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Bluewater Health, John Martin Gattinger passed away at the age of 100. Beloved husband of the late Olga Gattinger (2021). Loving father of Carol (Jim) Henrikson, Mary-Jane (Art) Steed, Diana (Danny) Kelm, Franklin (Rorie) Gattinger, and Robert (Caroline) Gattinger. Cherished grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. John is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Diana Kelm and his parents Frank and Catherine Gattinger. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home please).
