It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Dan Furlotte on November 14 at BWH at the age of 76. Left to cherish his memory are his partner and wife of 51 years, Kathy (Lawton), his daughter, Colleen (Brian Hay) and granddaughter, Saige. His girls were his pride and joy. The son of Claude (2004) and Shirley (1975) he is survived by his brothers and sister - Terry (Sue), Shawn (Sandy) and Linda (Colin) as well as many nieces and nephews. Dan served in the Canadian Navy and was a proud member of the Sarnia Legion. His work life included positions at Ethyl Corp and Wolseley. In his younger years, he was an avid cross-country skier, cyclist, fisherman and pleasure boater. Travel was also a passion and he and Kathy visited 5 continents. His happiest place though, was Belize, where he made many friends. He also enjoyed his daily meetings with his coffee buddies at Tim Hortons. Although he faced multiple medical challenges in his later years, he faced each one with grace and determination. As per his wishes, cremations has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Please consider a donation to Cat Chance Sarnia, or War Amps Canada in his memory (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
