Mr. Burton “Dean” Ewing, a lifelong resident of Wallaceburg and was the proud caretaker of the family farm, since the age of 17. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, at the CKHA-Sydenham Campus, at the age of 78.
Born to Burton and Vera (McGregor) Ewing, Dean was a beloved and cherished husband to Kathryn (Martin) Ewing. He was a loving father to Rod (Anne) Ewing and Shannon Crichton, and a devoted grandfather to Ezdon, Tess, Will, and Kate. Dean was also a kind brother to Colleen (Dale) Dean and a brother-in-law to Joanne (Allan) White, Donald (Bonnie) Martin, Nancy (Jerry) Wallace, and Connie Martin. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law David Martin. Dean will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Farming was Deans' life's devotion, owning and raising his family on the farm. Dean was a proud past chair of the Wallaceburg Hospital Board, earning the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for his significant contributions to his community, and his fellow Canadians. He was also a past member of the Wallaceburg Kinsmen Club and the White Oaks Hunting Club. He had a passion for skiing all his life, sharing it with his family, enjoying many trips to Collingwood. Dean had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Following with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
