Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Monday, March 25, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Carol Jo-Anne Eves passed away at the age of 77. Beloved wife of Ralph Eves of 58 years. Loving mother of Karen Elgar and David Eves. Cherished grandmother of Brittany (Alex), Paige (Tom) and Jessica (Parker) Elgar, Alex, and Jasmine Clelland. Dear sister of John Charteris (Marg) and Laurie Girard (John). Remembered by her nieces and nephews Tyler (Nicole), Dani, Courtney (Rob), Ryan (Chelsea), Steph (Doug), as well as a number of other loving nieces, nephews and cousins, and by her sister-in-law Janet Eves. Predeceased by her parents Ronald and Grace Charteris, her parents-in-law Bruce and Vera Eves, and her brothers-in-law Doug and Norm Eves. Jo-Anne loved spending time with her family and her fur baby Bella. She was a retired employee of Dow Chemical after over 30 years of service. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, knitting, quilting, painting, and camping. Jo-Anne was an avid volunteer with the Bluewater Anglers, Girl Guides of Canada, and the Family Counselling Centre Sarnia-Lambton. Special thanks to the staff of the Sarnia St. Joseph Hospice, 5th floor Palliative Care Units, Dr. Way and Dr Lilly for all the exceptional care and support. The family appreciates the help and support of friends Sandra Goodacre, Angela Sheppard, Sheree Lynn Hayter & Mike Dawson, Dave & Helen McKellar, Al & Becky Coyne, Jerrie Ployart. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Jo-Anne’s life will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice – Sarnia, Bluewater Anglers, or a charity of choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
