Our very heavy hearts announce the passing of James Arnold Ellenor of Sarnia, age 74, early on Sunday morning, May 5, 2024. Jim passed away bravely and peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice, with his wife and his family, by his side.  Jim, "Mr. Fixit" was the loving husband of Patricia Ann Ellenor (Watters) for 54 years.  He was the "BEST" father to his daughters Sherree Lynn Butler (Ellenor) and Angela Dawne Taylor (Ellenor) who loved and cared for him till the very end. He loved and was loved and cherished by his son-in-law Richard Lyle Butler. Jim deeply loved and was very, very proud of his grandsons Devin Thomas Butler (Zoe Fazekas) and Blake James Butler (Taryn Dudley) and they loved him right back. Jim loved their respective girlfriends and has formed strong relationships with both girls. . He was a wonderful step-grandpa to Justin Adams and his wife Tara.   He was a fun loving step-great grandfather to Justin's children - Izara, Zander and Olivia. Jim was the beloved brother-in-law of Susan Faye Einhorn (Castle,Watters) and the late, great Bill Einhorn (Dec 2021). Jim was very close to and was loved by his nieces and nephews - Curtis Castle (Amanda) and Chrissy & Shane Robertson and his Great Nieces Macky Robertson (Parker Laevens), Emily Robertson, Joe Castle (Jesse Vanderveeken) and his Great Nephew Zach Castle (Kiona)   Jim is survived  by his loving brother John (Friday Jack) Ellenor and his wife Gloria and by his sister Donna Jean Wood (Ellenor) and her husband Ken Wood as well as his step-sister Janis Johnston and her husband Gerry and his step-brother Stephen Hubbs and his wife Paula. He was predeceased by his precious parents Donald Ellenor (1970) and Joyce Ellenor (Hopkins) and his special step-father Frederick Hubbs (2022), and Pat's parents Tom & Betty Watters (2001), Pat's brother Brian Watters (2002), Jim's grandparents Arnold & Mae Ellenor, Grandma Hoppy (Hopkins) and Pat's grandparents Jim & Annie Humphrey. Jim was really loved and admired by many extended family members from both Jim and Pat's family.  

Jim worked at Holmes Foundry until he started working at Polysar in 1974 (or 75) and he retired in 2006. He loved his job and also loved fixing cars and woodworking at home. Jim has spent countless hours and met many of his friends at the ball diamonds and hockey rinks.  He loved and cherished his baseball and hockey families. Jim has gone Moose hunting at Departure Lake in Smooth Rock Falls for at least the last 30 years with Pat's cousin Kevin (Hoss) Lebarron. Jim taught himself and plays the guitar at family parties and bonfires.  Jim is a huge Johnny Cash fan and sings a lot of Ray Steven's songs like Guitarzan and Ahab the Arab. Some other favorite requests are My Boomerang Won't Come Back and The Cover of the Rolling Stone.

 After a motorcycle accident in 1968 Jim almost lost his life and it left him with his famous limp.  Since then he has loved life, has a great sense of humor and says Good Morning every day and means it. He has no temper, does not complain and he beams with positivity. Everybody loves Jim. 

A Service and Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Navy Club, 1420 Lougar Avenue, Sarnia, Ontario on May 18, 2024 at 1-5 p.m. Donations to the charity of your choice.
