Martha Dunsworth (nee Grandy) passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health, CEEH, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the age of 95. Martha is survived by her son Robert Dunsworth (Angie); grandchildren David Dunsworth (Shona), Jessica Dunsworth (Michael), and Kristy Dauw (Jeremy); great-grandchildren Olivia and Aria Dauw and Moxie Neitzke. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Dorothy Cornish and many nieces and nephews, including her beloved nieces Martha Bennett, June Dicks, and Mona Moore. She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, George Dunsworth; parents Martha Adams and William Grandy; sisters Rose Banfield, Pearl Spurrel, and Josie Zwicker; and sister-in-law Shirley Dicks. Martha was born in Garnish, Newfoundland but made Wyoming, Ontario her home where she lived for over 60 years. She retired 37 years ago from her managerial position at Lighting Unlimited in the Lambton Mall. She was a member of the Salvation Army and was involved in many other endeavours throughout the years including being a foster mother and a member of the Eastern Star. Her energetic, outgoing, generous spirit was unwavering. She was young at heart right up to the end. She lived a long, large life. She loved many and was loved by many. The family would like to express our gratitude to Landmark Village retirement home for going above and beyond with their exceptional kindness and support to Martha during her time there. We would also like to thank the team at Bluewater health, CEEH, for their exemplary end-of-life care. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with family and friends being received one hour prior to service.
