On January 12th, Colleen Anne Donohue passed away peacefully at the Grace Health Centre in Toronto, as a result of complications from Parkinson’s. Born and raised in Sarnia, Colleen was the daughter of William Anthony Donohue and Eileen Irwin Donohue. Colleen was predeceased by siblings Bill, John, Elizabeth, Helen and Mary Eileen, and is survived by siblings Irene, Pat and Joe. Colleen’s multivarious working life included stints as a teacher, journalist, office worker and nanny. A beloved sister and devoted aunt, Colleen had a phenomenal memory for all our birthdays and anniversaries into the third generation. Some of her most renowned talents were her joke-telling flair and her ability to hold audiences captive while conveying many accents in her story-telling. She especially enjoyed swimming in Lake Huron but, when it came to life’s pleasures, her love of dogs topped everything else. The youngest of nine siblings, Colleen was always generous with her time and resources. A beautiful, lively and entertaining presence, Colleen will be sadly missed at all our gatherings.
In Colleen's memory, donations can be made to the St. John the Compassionate Mission in Toronto, a community that was a great support to Colleen in her final years: http://www.stjohnsmission.org
