With her daughters by her side on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia. Helene Dales (nee Graf) passed away. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Crawford (2021). They were married for 60 years. Survived by her devoted daughters, Jody (Francis Muscat) Dales and her son J.T. Harshaw and his partner Gabriella Gronlund, and Jennifer (Dave Creighton) Dales.
Helene was an avid horsewoman and a longtime volunteer with the Bluewater Pony Club. Her love for animals, especially horses, was evident throughout her life. She was also a gifted artist, a graduate of OCAD, and an accomplished oil painter, whose work reflected her passion for the beauty of the world around her.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Helene dedicated her time to volunteering for TRACK, a therapeutic riding program for individuals with disabilities. She found great joy in supporting others and making a difference in her community.
Above all, Helene was a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother, giving love, care, and support to her family throughout her life. Her spirit of kindness, strength, and fierce independence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to thank, Dr. Butler and staff at CEE, Lambton Elderly Outreach, Pete and Linda Miller, the Greydanus family and Tara from the barn for playing an instrumental roll enabling Helene’s wish to stay in her home for as long as was possible.
A celebration of life will take place summer of 2025.
