Today our hearts are broken. With profound sadness, we announce that our father Donald Kenneth Crosbie has passed away at age 87 after a brief illness. Married to Carol Crosbie (nee Roane) for 63 years. Father to and survived by 3 sons Paul, David and Ian (Marissa) and two granddaughters Emma and Cassie. He is survived by brother Doug and sisters Fran and Margaret as well as many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by parents Cliff and Edith Crosbie. Dad loved spending time with his family and friends. A man of few words that loved and supported his family in any way he could. A man of faith and attendee at several churches throughout his life. Dad was a graduate of SCITS and started his working career at the City Hall in the finance department. Dad worked for more than 30 years at the Suncor refinery in Sarnia as a Senior Warehouseman. He was a longtime member of the Sarnia Bluewater Chordsmen. He had the privilege of singing on stage with Frank Mills twice, as part of the backup choir. Dad loved attending local concerts and social events with mom. Dad was a big hockey fan being a Sting Season ticket holder for many years and watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs whenever possible. Dad loved socializing with people, spending time under the bridge and taking drives in the country enjoying the peace and quiet that nature provided. Don had the privilege to meet Chris Hatfield during the Sarnia Air Show last month, where they spent time discussing their connection with the cottage on Stag Island. We are thankful that his suffering was a very short time, and he is now at rest. Thank you for all you did for us dad. You will always be loved and never forgotten. Special thanks to Mandy from Bayshore, the nurses in Palliative care at Bluewater Health and Doctor Kim for their care of dad in the last week of his life.
