Mildred Cowan (nee Luckasavitch), 89 years, of Petrolia passed away at her cottage in Whitney, Ontario on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Mildred was the loved wife of the late Alexander Cowan (2013). She was the mother of John and Lori Cowan of Brigden, Jane and Mark Teskey, and Thomas and Carol Cowan, all of Petrolia. Grandmother to Angela Pearce of Brantford, the late Amanda Cowan of Windsor, Christina Teskey, Melissa Teskey, and Thomas Cowan, all of Petrolia, and great grandmother of Clarice, Christopher, and James and great great-grandmother of Jeremy. She is also survived by her three brothers, Barry and Muriel Luckasavitch, Richard and Jane Luckasavitch, and Hal Luckasavitch and Marie Shalla. Mildred is predeceased by her father, Paul Luckasavitch (1972), her mother Ann Mary “Molly” Dargus (2008), sister Lewella August (2008), brother-in-law Pat August (2011), son Ronald Cowan (1978), and grandchildren Douglas Teskey (1989) and Amanda Cowan (2017).
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. Visitors will be received prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 pm. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to C.E.E.
