Peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024, Margaret "Marg" Cook passed way at Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland, Ontario at the age of 81. Loving wife of the late "Bill" Cook. Caring mother and friend of Ed Linton (Jane), Lisa Linton - Young (Chris), Rick Cook (Dianne), Kristi Cook, Connie Hart (Dean), Kelly Westra (Bill), Jeff Cook (Alison), and Dan Cook. Cherished grandmother of Donnovan Linton, Harley Linton, Ian Linton, Cara Linton, Collin Young, Luke Cook (Jill), Jared Cook (Monique), Julie Devel (Johnny), Terri Hart (Christian), Nicole Hart, Lance Hart (Alicia), Travis Hart (Chelsey), Megan Westra, Stephen Westra, and Jordan Cook, and great-grandmother of 18. Dear sister of Joe (Dorean) Rooney, Mary Ann (John) Cook, Bill (Hazel) Rooney, Peter Rooney, Bob (Ann) Rooney, Pat (Bernice) Rooney, Cecilia Hoffman, and Ed (Cathy) Rooney. Predeceased by husband Bill Cook, mother Anne Rooney (nee Miller), father Robert "Scotty "Rooney, brother Joe Rooney, brother Bill Rooney, brother Peter Rooney, sister Cecilia Hoffman (nee Rooney), and grandson Keegan Linton. Marg worked many years in various factories in the St. Marys and London Area from the age of 16 until she and Bill found each other, and she moved to Sarnia. She later in life started a career as an Airport Security Officer, which she did for many years. After Bills passing, Marg moved to Midland where she could be cared for by her daughter Lisa. She is once again beside Bill, cheering on the Blue Jays, now from the big sky box. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation held one our prior from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home please).
