Edward (Ted) Causley, 89, of Sarnia, Ontario, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 2, 1935, Ted lived a vibrant and full life, marked by his dedication to his family and his passions.
Ted was a devoted husband of 70 years, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his warmth and laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Ted's famous "words of wisdom for the day" will be remembered forever by many.
A talented barber by trade for 47 years and owned "Causley's Barber Shop", Ted worked with his father in the barber shop and later his brother-in-law. He was also a gifted musician who graced stages with his guitar and saxophone, playing in various bands over the years. His love of music brought joy not only to himself but to all who had the pleasure of hearing him play.
He was an adventurer at heart, with a deep love for the outdoors. Ted enjoyed hunting, camping, and traveling, often exploring the open road on his motorcycle. He had a knack for connecting with people and delighted in visiting with friends, new and old. An avid reader with a special interest in history, Ted was always eager to learn and share stories.
Ted leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and unforgettable memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Causley; his children, Tim (Jan), Mark (Lorna), Matt (Shelly), and Luke (Catherine); his 13 cherished grandchildren: Jonathan and Joshua, Laura, Stephanie, Jennifer, Andrew, Rachel, Rebecca, Alanna, Maddison, Cole, Keara, and Jessica; his 23 treasured great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Andy and Verna Causley, and his siblings, Clayton and Ruth.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Ted's wishes, a private family service was held.
