Family and friends were saddened by the passing of ELAINE P. BUTLER (nee Dockendorf) on March 17, 2024 from OMNI Quality Care - Bear Creek Terrace, Petrolia, at age 93 years. Elaine was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. on August 5, 1930, the youngest of five children of Walter (1986) and Gladys (Warren 1979) Dockendorff. She was predeceased by siblings Freeland (1982), Althea (Laybolt 2004), Carman (2015) and Alden (2018).

Elaine married the love of her life, Raymond A. Butler (2002) in Halifax, N.S., and the couple moved to Sarnia in 1956, where she was a much-loved wife and mother.

Elaine was a member of The Salvation Army church in Sarnia, and did volunteer nursing home visitation for 23 years, as well as volunteer Thrift Shop work for 5 years from the mid-1970s to the late 1990s.

Elaine is sadly missed by her son Wade (Lori) of Corunna, daughter Faye Hartley (Simon) of Melbourne, her grandchildren Emily, John, Timothy, Ryan, Lauren, Tyler and Alecia, and their families, including her great-grandchildren Addison, Wesley, Scarlet, Lyra and Henry. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Promoted to Glory - The love in our hearts will always keep us close, no matter where we are. There will be a private internment and private Celebrations of Elaine's Life in Corunna and Altona on her next Birthday.
