A life of one hundred years in a few words? Faithful, believer in The Lord Jesus, as Saviour and Provider of life; Eternal! Faithful, hardworking, husband, father, friend and neighbour. Orvie grew up with 6 siblings on a Mennonite farm northwest of Elmira, ON. He married Naomi of Northern Michigan and raised 7 children in Brights Grove, ON. From a young man Orvie’s talent of carpentry and being Mr. Fix It, was used as a career of 30 years; then he retired to helping family for 25 years. Orvie served others often and enjoyed hunting and fishing. As a close friend said, “He lived a great, good life. It was an honour to have known him.”
Orvie’s family truly appreciates the staff, volunteers and service providers of Lambton Meadowview Villa for giving Orvie five good years with Naomi. Their loving professional care during his end of days was evident.
A private family service will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Lambton Meadowview Auxiliary, which used funds to help residents enjoy life even better (cheques only at the funeral home please or online at www.lambtoncares.ca ).
