Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Bluewater Health, Bob Bourke passed away at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Cathy Bourke (née Reinhart) for over 51 years. Loving father of John and Matthew (Stacey) Bourke. Cherished grandfather of Naomi, Eireen, Isla, and Lennon Bourke. Dear brother of Michael (Cathy) Bourke, Brian (Ann-Marie) Bourke and brother-in-law Ray Brunette. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Evelyn Bourke and his sister Jewell Ann Brunette. Bob was a professional engineer, working in Bowmanville, Lambton and Pickering. He was a passionate artist with a deep love for painting and photography, capturing the world around him through his unique perspective. Bob also enjoyed blacksmithing, forging one-of-a-kind pieces by hand. His curiosity about the past fueled his love for genealogy, where he spent time delving into his family's history, uncovering rich stories and connections to his relatives. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. with family and friends being received one hour prior to service. Interment to follow in North Bay, Ontario at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to ALS Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
