With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brian Kenneth Biggers, a devoted husband, loving father, proud Papa, and a true hockey fanatic. Brian passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, passion, and an unwavering dedication to those he held dear. Loving husband and best friend of Christine (nee Benson) and cherished father of Melissa Nesbitt (Clint), Brandon Biggers (Becky), Brad Biggers (Ashley), and Brianne Biggers (Ben). Treasured Papa of Jack Nesbitt, Brady Nesbitt, Jackson Campbell, Mary Campbell, Deklan Biggers, Sawyer Biggers, Lucy Campbell, Sutton Biggers, and Sloane Biggers. Beloved son of Kenneth and the late Shirley Biggers. Dear brother of Christine Lyall (Dan), and nephews Scott and Sean Lyall. First and foremost, Brian was a family man. Nothing meant more to him than his wife, children, and grandchildren. For 31 years, he shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Christine, raising four wonderful children together and building a life filled with love, laughter, and, of course, hockey. Christine was always by his side-whether cheering on their children from the stands, attending family gatherings, or simply sharing in the joy of everyday life. Hockey wasn't just a sport to Brian; it was part of his very soul. A lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan, he lived and breathed the game, passing that love down to his children and grandchildren. If you thought of hockey, you thought of Brian, and if you thought of Brian, you thought of hockey. His knowledge of the game was unmatched, and his enthusiasm was contagious. But above all else, Brian's greatest pride was his family. He never missed an opportunity to speak highly of his children, celebrating their achievements and beaming with pride at the lives they built. His grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he made sure they knew just how deeply they were loved. And let's not forget his fifth child-his beloved therapy dog, Maia. Always by his side, Maia provided companionship, comfort, and the occasional reminder that Brian's heart had room for one more. Brian displayed a strong work ethic having worked at Community Living Sarnia for 35 years and serving as President for 4370 CUPE. Brian will be remembered for his kindness, his passion, and his unwavering love for his family and the game he adored. His presence at the rink, at family events, and in the hearts of those who knew him will be dearly missed. Special thank you to the Doctors at Bluewater Health as well as all the staff that supported him in many ways on the 4th floor. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on-in the sound of skates on the ice, in the cheers of a hockey game, and in the love he instilled in his family. Rest easy, Brian. May the game always be on, and may your seat always have the best view. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to SODA (Sarnia Organ Donor Awareness Group) or Right to Play (cheques only at the funeral home please).
