Nenone Rose Baldwin (nee Harris) passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert (Bert) LeRoy Baldwin (2005), her parents Norman and Morna Harris, and her brother Tom (Bev).
She was born on July 12 (Orangemen’s Day as she liked to remind us) in 1928, nine months and four days after her parents’ marriage. Her mother was known to thank goodness for the four days. Her father had seen the name Nenone and really liked it, so he condemned his daughter to a lifetime of pronouncing and/or spelling her name for people.
While attending SCITS, she spent summertime in the Farmerettes where young people would work on farms that were short-handed since so many young men were off to war. She was always proud to tell people that she helped “win the war”. She was a lifetime member of the Delta Chi Sigma Sorority and later in life joined the IODE.
She was mother to six children: Judy, Kelley, Betty, Bert (Catherine), Norma Goodacre (Butch) and Arnie (Jodi), Loving Nana to Colleen (James Williamson), Emily (Kevin DeLima), Madison, Nicole (Nick Gerow), Shae Lynn, and Allison, Great Grandma to Elizabeth and Violet Williamson and Owen DeLima. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor and the nurses at Palliative Care at Bluewater Health for their care and compassion.
Private cremation arrangements are entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W9). Memories and messages of condolence may be sent through www.djrobb.on.ca
