Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Bluewater Health, Eleanor Joan “Joanne” Avery passed away at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Joseph Avery. Loving mother of Elizabeth Levan (Jim), John Avery, Nancy McClemens (Donald), and Robert Avery (Carrie). Cherished grandmother of Kathy Levan, Chris Levan, Jason McClemens (Carlie), Tyler McClemens (Stacey), Kayla Avery, and Jillian Avery. Proud great-grandmother of Carson, Ruby, Abigail, Kane, Adelyn, Jack, Annabelle, Hazel and Walker. Predeceased by her brothers Bill, Don and Dave, and her special friend Bob Cook.
Joanne was an avid quilter, and a member of the Brigden Country Quilters.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, May 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
