Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Bluewater Health, Fredrick Richard “Rick” “Farmer” Alexander passed away at the age of 85.

Beloved husband of Ethel (nee Maitland) Alexander of 52 years. Survived by sons Robert and Chris Alexander. Dear brother of Norma (late Michel), Martin Alexander, Leslie (Carole) Alexander, Alvin Alexander, Allen (Linda) Alexander, Douglas (Karen) Alexander and brother-in-law John Spiers. Predeceased by his parents Newton and Nora Alexander, his sisters Emily Alexander, Eunice Spiers, Carol (Late Herb) Dickenson, and sister-in-law Shirley Green. Dear brother-in-law of Ken Maitland, Bill (Irene) Maitland, Mary Lou (Paul) Pietranglo, Doug (Connie) Maitland, Joanne (Clay) Benoit, Jim (Chris) Maitland, Rick (Brenda) Maitland and Ruby (the late Larry) Maitland.

Dearly missed uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard will be deeply missed by his fur-friends Jade and Bella.

A Special thank you to Dr. Clubb, Pam, Barry K., Lowella, Barbara Ann Parker, Pat O’Keefe, Steve Fennell, George and Agnes Dickenson and many others for making his last few months comfortable. Richard worked 28 years at Homes Foundry, was a co-owner of APO Renovations, a long-time volunteer member for the Sarnia District Boy Scouts at Camp Attawandaron and a beloved soccer coach.

At Richard’s request there will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Sarnia District Humane Society or Charity of Choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
