A ban on open-air burning implemented last week has been lifted, Sarnia Fire Rescue Services says.
“With air quality improving after the impacts of wildfires in Ontario and Quebec last week, and the Environment Canada special air quality statement no longer in effect, Sarnia Fire Chief Bryan Van Gaver has lifted the ban on open-air burning in the city,” a news release noted, Monday. “Van Gaver would like to thank all Sarnia residents for their assistance in reducing the impact of smoke on air quality.”
