Two people have died in two separate incidents on the roadway in St. Clair Township, Lambton OPP said Tuesday.
The first incident occurred on Friday, June 23, when emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 40 between Oil Springs Line and Bickford Line.
The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, OPP said, and no other injuries were reported.
Highway 40 was closed for several hours for the investigation, and no information was released at the time.
“The identity of the driver will not be released, and no charges have been laid at this time,” a news release from Provincial Constable Jamie Bydeley noted.
The second incident occurred Monday, June 26, around 5:30 p.m., a separate news release noted, when Lambton OPP officers were called to a single vehicle collision on Lambton Line.
“Officers attended the scene along with Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene,” OPP stated. “Lambton Line was closed between Highway 40 and Baseline Road for the investigation.”
"The identity of the driver will not be released, and no further updates are anticipated."
