Three people were arrested and face a slew of charges following a lengthy investigation that led to a search at a Colborne Road address in Sarnia, police say.
On Thursday July 20, members of the Sarnia Police Vice Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at 9-975 Colborne Road, as part of an investigation into ongoing drug trafficking activities involving illegal street drugs, a Sarnia Police news release noted.
Police located two handguns (loaded with live rounds),18.85 grams of fentanyl (worth a street value of $3,298.75) and more than $4,200 in Canadian currency.
Three individuals were arrested and have been held for bail on numerous drugs and weapons related charges — a 41-year-old from Sarnia, and two individuals from Toronto.
“These types of criminal investigations, along with the involved offenders, are increasingly multi-jurisdictional in nature,” said Sarnia Police chief Derek Davis. “We remain very concerned about the risks these handguns could have posed to our community and our front line officers.
“Our VICE unit, with the assistance of our Emergency Response Team, did an excellent job in safely arresting these individuals and removing these weapons and drugs from our streets.”
