Families and prospective applicants are invited to join St. Clair Catholic’s Project SEARCH Information Night, taking place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Jerry McCaw Family Centre YMCA in Sarnia. This event highlights an innovative school-to-work transition program designed for students with intellectual or communication disabilities.
Hosted in partnership with the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario and the Goodwill Career Centre, Project SEARCH offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience through a variety of internships. Attendees will hear a presentation about the program, meet the team, and tour the internship facilities, led by current Project SEARCH interns.
“Project SEARCH brings together community, resources, and opportunities into one cohesive program,” says Hollie Sparling, Program Resource Consultant. “It’s a truly transformative experience for our students as they develop skills and confidence to enter the workforce.”
“This is an incredible opportunity for our students and community partners to work together to create meaningful pathways for every student,” says Scott Johnson, Director of Education. “We are thrilled to see the positive impact this program continues to have in our community.”
The Information Night is open to families, students, and anyone interested in learning more about Project SEARCH and its impact. Registration is available via the QR code on the event flyer or through the Project SEARCH Sarnia website.
St. Clair Catholic encourages families to take advantage of this unique opportunity to explore how Project SEARCH can support students’ transition to the workplace. For more information about Project SEARCH, please get in touch with Hollie Sparling at [email protected]
