A special weather statement has been issued for Sarnia-Lambton as a winter storm makes its way into parts of southern Ontario, Tuesday.
Environment Canada says snow associated with a storm system is expected to move into portions of southern Ontario on Tuesday.
“The snow may be heavy at times before changing to rain near midday,” the agency noted. “Local snowfall amounts near 5cm are possible before the changeover to rain.”
The latest analysis suggests that 20mm to 30mm of rain is likely, before tapering off Tuesday night.
“Winter travel conditions are possible once the snow arrives,” Environment Canada added. “At this point, it appears that the heaviest snow may impact the morning commute.”
Ponding in low-lying areas is possible.
