Sarnia Legion Branch 62 has released its 2024 Donation Report, revealing a total of $729,948 distributed to the Sarnia-Lambton community through prize winnings and lottery donations.

The report highlights the following contributions:

  • $36,846 given to 50/50 prize winners
  • $341,504 awarded to Catch the Ace winners
  • $24,500 distributed in meat raffle prizes
  • $327,098 donated to not-for-profits and charities through lottery funds

Sarnia Legion President Ron Realesmith expressed gratitude to the community for their role in supporting the Legion’s initiatives. “It’s a tremendous amount of money, back into the community, to much needed and well-deserving non-for-profits and charities,” said Realesmith.

“These funds raised originate from the people within our community that show up every week to our Legion and partake in our lotteries. While we provide a good service and entertainment, these folks support our Legion, week in and week out. They believe in our core mission, which is to take care of veterans and their families, the act of remembrance, and supporting the community. Without them, we can’t do any of this, so thank you to our patrons and members for your unwavering support.”
