Public input sought for former Holmes Foundry site

The project, a proposed high-rise, mixed-use development, aims to bring residential, office, wellness, retail, and hotel spaces to the 6.9-hectare site, enhancing local infrastructure and services.

Zelinka Priamo Ltd., the land use planners working on behalf of Southcoast Developments Ltd., will guide the planning approvals process and ensure compliance with local regulations. Southcoast Developments Ltd. purchased the former Holmes Foundry site for $5.75 million in 2022. Since the acquisition, the company has been conducting environmental assessments, including drilling multiple testing wells to check for contaminants, to ensure the site's readiness for development.

The Hamilton-based developer envisions the former Holmes Foundry site as a "village within a village," aiming to introduce up to 1,900 residential units as part of the project.

The virtual open house is designed to provide residents an opportunity to learn more about the project, review preliminary concept sketches, and engage in discussion about the anticipated community impact.
