With improved conditions, Pinery Provincial Park beach is no longer posted and is now safe to swim in, Lambton Public Health announced Saturday.

The beach had previously been deemed unsafe to swim due to high levels of E. coli bacteria, following sampling, Friday.

The beach is monitored weekly, (water sampling with lab analysis), along with C.J. McEwen beach, while beaches monitored daily include: Grand Bend (north and south beach); Ipperwash; Bright’s Grove; Canatara Park.

No sampling occurs along the St. Clair River; however, a caution sign, advising of high bacteria levels following heavy rainfall, has been permanently placed at: Branton Cundick Park; Brander Park; and Seager Park.
