The Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) has named Karen Lee, PhD, President and CEO of Parkinson Canada, as the keynote speaker for its 2025 Women of Excellence luncheon, set to take place on Thursday, June 5 at the Dante Club.
Lee is a nationally recognized leader in the health sector, known for her work supporting Canadians impacted by Parkinson’s disease and advancing research that improves quality of life. She was recently honoured with an Alumni Award of Distinction from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine and is a member of the global leadership network YPO.
Now in its ninth year, the Women of Excellence event celebrates women in the Sarnia-Lambton community whose leadership, service, and achievements have had a lasting local impact.
Nominations for this year’s awards are open until Friday, April 4 at 4:00 p.m. Applications can be downloaded at sarniacommunityfoundation.ca and submitted via email to [email protected].
Tickets for the luncheon go on sale Monday, April 14 at 9:00 a.m., with individual tickets priced at $60 and reserved tables of eight available for $500. To book, call the SCF office at 519-332-2588.
The Foundation also supports several scholarships aligned with the Women of Excellence program, including the Jean Macdougall Fund for Women in Politics, the Blue Eyes Big Heart Scholarship for women leaving abusive situations, and the University Women’s Scholarship for post-secondary students.
Since its founding in 1983, the Sarnia Community Foundation has contributed more than $12 million to community organizations and initiatives throughout Sarnia-Lambton.
