A man reported missing in April has been found and arrested by Sarnia Police, in connection with a number of offences including weapons charges and identity theft.

Police say Corey Maness had a number of outstanding warrants for his arrested when he was reported missing April 6.

“Upon leaving his home, Maness made disparaging comments to his family, which initially caused them concern,” a news release noted, adding that Maness continued to maintain communication with several of his family members.
“He has also been the subject of more than ten separate police occurrences in which he either had been seen or was alleged to have been involved.

"Most recently, Maness was positively identified by police in a shoplifting occurrence on June 25th, 2023 where he was captured on security footage.”

Maness was located by officers from the Community Response Division in the 100 block of Indian Road, south, around 8 p.m. on June 29.

The warrants include: order for committal; assault with a weapon; pointing a firearm; possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose; carrying a concealed weapon; identity theft; and fail to comply with probation.

“As a result, Mr. Maness is no longer considered to be a Missing Person and he will be held for a Bail Hearing on June 30th, 2023,” police added. “The Sarnia Police Service would like to thank the community for the information that has been communicated to the police since April 6th, 2023 in regards to locations where Maness had been spotted.”
