A 33-year-old Arkona man faces charges of assaulting multiple police officers after an incident involving Lambton OPP, Friday.

Police say OPP were contacted around 6:15 p.m. regarding an individual causing ‘significant damage’ to a parked vehicle on Arkona Road.

“Officers attended along with Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and located the individual who became agitated and assaultive during the arrest,” a news release noted. “Three officers received injuries while taking the individual into custody.”

The man faces charges of assaulting a peace officer; two counts of assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm; mischief under $5,000; and failure to comply with a release order (three counts).

The accused has been remanded in custody following a bail hearing.
