The City is kicking off the New Year by inviting residents to come on out and find a new activity, or old favourite, at the Strangway Community Centre.
The Centre will hold its annual open house on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, providing residents with the opportunity to explore the more than 85 recreation programs and activities the City offers through the Strangway Centre.
Guests can tour the facility, connect with instructors and register for programs or memberships, in addition to enjoying a live ukelele performance.
“It’s a great opportunity for anyone unfamiliar, or even long-standing participants, to come out and really get a feel for the Centre and all that the City offers in recreation programming. From pick-up hockey for older adults to language lessons there’s something for everyone on the program schedule,” said Activities Programmer Mike Neely.
The Centre’s programming is open to community members aged 20 and older, with both drop-in and registration programming that covers a wide range of interests and needs including:
• Fitness and wellness
• Arts and culture
• Hobbies
• Special interest
• Organized indoor and outdoor sports
The City looks forward to welcoming everyone out. Those who can’t make it can visit www.sarnia.ca/Recreation to access the City’s recreation registration portal to browse programs and register online. Interested participants can also call 519.332.0656 for more information and to register.
