This comprehensive program consists of over 700 hours of theoretical coursework, hands-on learning, and clinical work placements, providing students with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in real healthcare settings. The combination of classroom instruction and practical training ensures that graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce.

Courses in the PSW program are taught by a regulated healthcare professional who is also a qualified teacher. This provides students with a diverse learning experience, blending clinical expertise with effective teaching strategies.

The program adheres to industry standards and follows the guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, ensuring students receive an education that meets the needs of the healthcare sector.

Upon successful completion of the program, students earn credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and receive additional certifications, such as First Aid/CPR and Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA). These certifications further enhance their qualifications and make them even more competitive in the job market. With a 98% employment rate within two months of graduation, students are equipped with the skills and knowledge to secure jobs in the healthcare field right after completing their training.

The PSW program provides a cost-effective and industry-relevant education, helping students build a strong foundation for a rewarding career in healthcare. The success of the program is reflected in the high graduation and employment rates, with more than 2,000 learners graduating each year from 21 school board-run PSW programs across Ontario. This program is a valuable pathway for individuals looking to make a difference in the healthcare industry.
