Climate Action Sarnia Lambton will host a four-part speaker series beginning Tuesday.
The events will on the second Tuesday of the month, beginning this week, at the Sarnia Public Library Auditorium, beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the series runs through to April.
“The purpose of these presentations is to offer citizens greater understanding of environmental challenges which we face locally, nationally and globally,” the group said in a news release. “And to offer people hope that will help to overcome the despair that many people are feeling these days.”

The St. Clair River: a Tale of Recovery - Tuesday, Jan. 9
Brenda Lorenz and Ken Hall, members of Friends of the St. Clair, will describe successful efforts to improve water quality and restore natural habitat.
Local Action on Climate Change - Tuesday, Feb.13
Bob Sutton of the Samara Centre for Democracy will discuss democracy’s strengths and weaknesses as he reviews efforts by the City of Sarnia to address and mitigate the effects of climate change. He will highlight the ways in which citizens can become more constructively engaged in their democracy to drive meaningful change.
How to Tackle Climate Change on Lake - Tuesday, March 12
Huron Patrick Donnelly, co-founder of the non-profit Lake Huron Coastal Centre, will share how climate change is impacting Lake Huron and efforts needed to mitigate its effects.
Eternally Green: Choose Natural Burial - Tuesday, April 9
Mark Richardson, Manager of Cemetery Services for Niagara Falls will share his passion for offering everyone a natural (green) burial and how this can eliminate carbon emissions and other pollutants released by cremation while preserving the natural ecology of the earth.
