As the City of Sarnia continues efforts to streamline customer experiences and expand digital services, a wider array of facilities will be bookable for rentals online.

Starting at noon, Monday, January 13, 2025, individuals interested in booking most facility types can utilize the City’s online recreation registration portal to book and pay for their rental. Historically only last-minute (24-hour) ice rentals,  community rooms and picnic pavilions have been available to book online.  Starting Monday, additional facilities, including Class B Ball Diamonds, pickleball courts, tennis courts, Class B Fields, and ice will be available.

Bookings will be available up to 45 days in advance. For ice and outdoor sports facilities, bookings open 14 days ahead of their season opening to ensure the  City can continue to accommodate allocations to established user groups such as minor sports organizations and recreational leagues. For example, the spring ice season starts on April 1, so users will be able to book spring ice starting March 18.

Certain specialized facilities, such as Class A Ball Diamonds, Class A Fields,  stages, and the Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion, in addition to rentals less than three days in advance can’t be booked online. Requests in these circumstances can be made by calling 519.332.0330 ext. 3700 or by emailing [email protected]

Last-minute ice rentals are still offered through the portal, at a 25 per cent discount if booked within 24 hours.
