More than 10,000 people joined Sarnia’s Hometown Hockey event, making it the highest-attended stop on the national TV tour so far this season, organizers say.

The Dec. 19-20 event was hosted by Ron McLean and Tara Sloan in downtown Sarnia and featured plenty of NHL alumni and performances by The Tenors and several local bands.

It also featured taped segments with Sarnia natives Chris Hadfield and hockey great Dino Ciccarelli, curling with Mark Bice and a feature on high-end NHL talent produced by the Sarnia Sting.

Some 4,100 attended on the Saturday and another 6,325 on Sunday, organizers said.
