The Book Keeper has been Sarnia’s local, independent bookstore since 1980.
Our staff are knowledgeable and well informed and take delight in helping to foster a lifelong love affair with reading. One of our biggest joys is in pairing our customers with the perfect, life-altering, spine-tingling, mind-blowing book! Not much of a reader? That’s ok! We also have unique and eclectic giftware, home décor, toys, games, jewellery and more! We are always looking to support and bring in gifts from local or Canadian artisans.

The Book Keeper takes immense pride in providing a welcoming and comfortable place to shop for everyone in our diverse community. We are a Rainbow Certified business that works diligently to be a safer space for our 2SLGBTQIA+ and more vulnerable community members. We work tirelessly to support many community organizations throughout Sania/Lambton, through donations, fundraising events and more.
We are more than “just a bookstore”. Our store is a place to connect, learn, create and enjoy yourself! The Book Keeper hosts four different monthly book clubs, two storytime hours, a craft night with local artisans and a number of author events with some of the biggest authors of our time! We also love to champion our homegrown authors by holding book launches and signings and promoting their works. We are a stronger community when we help lift each other up!
