Sarnia is reducing the speed limit on a stretch of Old Lakeshore Road in Bright’s Grove.
The current 40 km/h will be lowered to 30 km/h from Waterworks Road to a point just east of Remo Drive to better protect walkers and cyclists.
“This is a great idea to lower the speed limit. This is the road that goes right along the shoreline, where the parks are, where the children are playing, people are playing tennis,” said Coun. Margaret Bird, who pushed for an even lower speed limit.
Traffic bollards and road markings will also be added to Old Lakeshore between Waterworks and Cow Creek to further encourage drivers to slow down.
