City accountants honoured

Published on

Two chartered accountants in Sarnia have received separate honours from their industry peers.

Debra Taylor has been elected to the council of the Chartered Professional Accountants Association of Ontario, and Sandy Whyte has received a rare Life Membership Award.

Whyte was touted for her professionalism and lifelong dedication to volunteerism. She was also recognized for sharing her knowledge and skills through advocacy and fundraising. She has supported such non-profit organizations as United Way, Huron House Boys Home, Breast Cancer Society of Canada and Community Legal Assistance Sarnia.

Taylor, meanwhile, has served on various non-profit boards and offers an annual scholarship to a student from Northern Collegiate who achieved the highest average in Grade 11 or Grade 12 accounting and is enrolled in a post-secondary business program.
