Theatre Sarnia is proud to present Mom's Gift, the fourth production in the 2024/25 season, running from April 2 to April 6, 2025, at the historic Imperial Theatre. Written by Phil Olson, Mom's Gift is a heartwarming comedy that blends humour with poignant family revelations.
Directed by Dianne Visser with stage management by Maddisyn Fisher, this touching story follows a family navigating the complexities of love, loss, and forgiveness. Mom, played by Dina McPhee, returns as a ghost on a mission to earn her wings—only the exact nature of her task remains a mystery. The only person who can hear or see Mom is her daughter Kat (Kelsey Edwards), who is spending the day with her family as part of her court-ordered Anger Management Program. As family secrets unravel, the story surprises with twists that challenge the characters and audience alike.
"This production beautifully balances humour and heart, exploring the delicate ties that bind families together," says Executive Director Brian Austin Jr. "Mom's Gift will make you laugh, cry, and reflect on the importance of forgiveness and understanding."
The talented cast also includes John Reid as Dad, Kieran Corliss as Kevin, Nora Bourque as Brittney, Lisa Slack as Trish, and Janet Shrumm as Mrs. Norquist.
"Our community theatre thrives on stories that resonate deeply with audiences," adds Austin. "We're excited to bring this heartfelt comedy to the stage and celebrate the dedication of our local performers and production teams."
