Youth group seeking rainbow coloured crosswalk

Published on

A local youth group is launching a campaign to bring a rainbow-coloured crosswalk to downtown Sarnia.

Members of Spectrum, an LGBTQ2+ drop-in program at Sarnia-Lambton Rebound, say a rainbow crosswalk would be a visible symbol of support and acceptance for the LGBTQ2+ community.

Similar crosswalks can already be found in London, Chatham and Windsor.

The group is gathering names on petitions and hopes, with council approval, the crosswalk can be painted in time for Pride Month in June.
