Sarnia multi-sport athlete Paige Vrolyk is headed to Hamilton this fall to play volleyball for McMaster University.

The St. Patrick’s High School student led the Fighting Irish to the Lambton-Kent finals this year, after winning an OFSAA bronze in long jump in 2017.

She has also been named most valuable player at Sarnia's Twin Bridges Volleyball Club the past two seasons, and won the OVA Award of Excellence in 2017.

Vrolyk said the energy, focus and sense of timing she developed as a track athlete will come in handy on the court.

"When I step on the court, playing volleyball is my focus," she told McMaster Athletics. "I can block out any distractions, and I treat each point as a new opportunity which I am determined to use."

Vrolyk has been accepted into both the kinesiology and life sciences programs.
