The old cannon in Canatara Park known as “Big Tom” has been approved for relocation to the park behind the Sarnia Library, possibly in time for Remembrance Day.
And a light armoured vehicle, known as a LAV III, will be installed on a concrete pad in the park as a war memorial to Canadians lost during the Afghanistan Mission.
It’s expected the LAVIII memorial could be in place by the spring of 2016.
Two Sarnia-Lambton men, Pte. William Cushley and Cpl. Brent Poland, died during the mission.
