Two city elementary schools getting capital upgrades

Catholic school trustees have approved capital projects for two elementary schools in Sarnia.

At Holy Trinity on Lorne Crescent, space is being reconfigured to create one new classroom and a resource room. The existing library resource space will become a new learning commons.

The contract was awarded to Sarnia’s Bill Hoekstra General Contracting at a cost of $266,681.

At St. Matthew’s on Elm Street, the parking lot is being expanded with accessibility upgrades. The existing basketball nets will be relocated, along with new fencing and landscaping.

Wellington Builders Inc. of Forest was awarded the contract for $542,576.
