A tree planting in honour of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee is set to take place at Coronation Park in Sarnia, on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The event is hosted by Climate Action Sarnia-Lambton and IODE Errol Egremont, in an effort to help "make Sarnia a more beautiful, sustainable and healthy city including efforts to address the challenges of climate change" the groups said.
Adults and youth are encouraged to bring work gloves, shovels and strong footwear. A rain date is slated for October 2.
