Sunday gun hunting debate

Published on

The public can offer its opinion on Wednesday, March 18 at 5 p.m. about a proposal to allow Sunday gun hunting in Sarnia.

The meeting at city hall is to gather comments prior to council voting on the issue.

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters has asked the city to allow hunting on Sunday, saying the extra day would better manage wildlife numbers and provide a pro-active approach to farm crop losses.

The Ministry of Natural Resources already permits it within a majority of Ontario municipalities.

Speakers have five minutes, and should contact Amy Burkhart prior to the meeting at 519-332-0330, ext. 3263, or [email protected]
