Franco Sproviero has been chosen the Western Conference Rookie of the Year in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
The 16-year-old Sarnia product led the conference in scoring by rearguards with 11 goals and 41 assists for the Lambton Shores Predators this season.
He ended the regular season on a six-game point-scoring streak and hit the score sheet in 12 of his last 13 games.
Sproviero was an eighth round selection of the Sting in the OHL Priority Selection last April, and played a handful of games with the OHL club this season.
