The generosity of the local hockey community was on full display recently when Sting fans donated $6,575 to help with the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

Before the late January match up against the Firebirds, the Sting encouraged fans to bring donations while setting aside $2 from each ticket purchased at the box office for the cause.

The total includes generous donations from local businesses.

“We’d like to thank our fans and the people of Sarnia for once again showing tremendous support to a worthy cause, said Sting President Bill Abercrombie.”

The reception from Sarnia-Lambton was outstanding. I’d like to personally thank the companies who jumped on board, and helped us surpass our expectations.”
