Some of the memorial brass plaques turned in

Published on

Some of 18 brass plaques stolen from a Centennial Park memorial garden have been turned in anonymously to Sarnia Police.

But the plaques, pried from the concrete base of the Victorian Order of Nurses memorial on Nov. 18, are too badly damaged to be displayed again, said Const. Giovanni Sottosanti.

They appear to have been cut up with a grinder, police said.

No charges have been laid and the investigation continues. Anyone with information can contact Detective Jeff Rovers at 519-344-8861, ext. 6159, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
