Soirée planned to recognize city athlete Carolyne Prevost

Sarnia super athlete Carolyne Prevost will be recognized with a hometown tribute on Nov. 16.

Hosted by Le centre culturel francophone Jolliet, the event features socializing, finger foods and a cash bar, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a ceremony at 7 p.m.

Donations accepted at the door will be donated to Prevost to help her prepare for the next CrossFit games.

The Saint-François-Xavier School grad finished first among Canadians at the CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin, and placed #13 overall in the world.

Prevost, a Toronto high school teacher, has won 11 national championships in four different sports: hockey, taekwondo, soccer, and ball hockey.

The ceremony at the Centre Communautaire Francophone de Sarnia, 901 The Rapids Pkwy, will be in French and English.
